BIOGRAPHY
Pedro Martínez Troya. Double bass
He studied double bass at the Isaac Albéniz Conservatory in Girona and electric bass with Carles Benavent (Paco de Lucía).
In his beginnings he was co-founder of one of the best known Blues bands on the Catalan scene “Blues de Rostoll“. In 1990 he was co-founder of “Los Gazpacho“, a Flameco Pop group, with whom they recorded two albums “Pásame la sal” and “Andando por las rama” which they tour on tour throughout Spain, Europe and Mexico.
In 2016 he participated in the flamenco show in commemoration of Camarón “Recordando a Camarón”. Also in 2016, he participated in the production show “La Pasionaria” at the Odèon Theater in Nîmes, which will also be presented at the Flamenco Festival in the same city in January 2018.
Semifinalist at the 2017 International Flamenco Singing Festival of Las Minas (57th edition), where he performed a Taranta of his own composition “Mi Lalo” and some tangos of his own composition “Nayna”.
He is currently part of the Sextet Gerió, of the double bass and voice duo of To Wit, Los Gazpacho and Adrià Puntí.
